May the animals in our lives help us to be gentle and loving to ourselves and those around us, so that we have the ability to perceive and accept the life and love around us. 

The world around us demands more and more of us. We're expected to function, and the pressure to perform is increasing.

And then there are the issues that have been ingrained in our system since childhood: emotional blocks and limiting beliefs. We react to situations much more intensely than would be "normal." We get triggered.

You are good as you are

It's important to know that you're wonderful just the way you are. Your reactions have nothing to do with your core being, but rather with a conditioned part deep within you. This part wants to protect you from hurt and therefore clings to old belief patterns. In fact, these were the very patterns that protected you from further hurt or disappointment during your childhood.

As adults, our conditioned side often serves us unnecessarily. It holds us back by repeatedly bringing blocking beliefs to our attention, and our mind reacts accordingly.

This happens especially when your inner child is triggered. This means you find yourself in a situation where your wounded part feels transported back to the past and wants to protect you.
